More than 1.5 million pounds of fully cooked meat and poultry products have been recalled nationwide, the USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) announced Saturday. The recall includes hot dogs, bacon, chicken sausage, deli meats, and other products sold under brands including Kayem, Al Fresco, and McKenzie.
Which Meats Were Recalled?
Kayem Foods Inc. recalled the items after discovering a cooling system malfunction at one of its warehouses. The malfunction caused storage temperature deviations, according to the company. See the recalled items below:

The recalled products were shipped to retail and foodservice providers across the U.S. and in Hong Kong.

- Find the brand, product name, package size, UPC, and lot code.
- Compare those details with Kayem’s affected-product list or FSIS’s product list. A product name alone is not enough to identify an affected package.
- If you cannot read the code or are unsure whether your product is included, contact Kayem at 800-426-6100 or info@kayem.com.
What You Should Do
No illnesses had been reported at the time of the FSIS announcement. Consumers should not eat affected products and should throw them away or return them. FSIS also urges anyone concerned about illness from the products to contact a healthcare provider.
