Recall Report: 250,000 Cooluli Mini Fridges Recalled Over Fire Hazards
If you rely on a compact Cooluli mini fridge to keep your skincare products chilled or drinks cold at your desk, you will want to check its label before opening the door again.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and Cooluli have issued a voluntary safety recall for approximately 250,000 mini fridges due to fire and burn hazards. Safety officials reported that the internal mode switch—which toggles the unit between cooling and warming settings—can short circuit and overheat. Cooluli has received at least 19 reports of units smoking, sparking, melting, or catching fire, resulting in over $80,000 in property damage and at least one reported smoke inhalation injury.
The recall specifically affects 10-liter and 15-liter models from the Classic, Infinity, Glow Beauty, and Vibe series sold between January 2019 and October 2024 for between $80 and $120. Impacted units feature an internal power supply and dual AC and DC ports on the back instead of an external adapter. You can easily check whether your unit is included by inspecting the label inside the door: affected batch numbers include 1535 through 1545 and 1200000 through 1202080.
If your appliance is part of the recall, stop using and unplug it immediately. To resolve the issue, head to Cooluli’s official website to register for a free repair kit. You will be asked to unplug the fridge, cut the old power cord, and submit photos confirming the cut cord and batch label. Cooluli will send you a replacement DC power cord along with a permanent sticker to block off the AC port. Newer units with external power bricks are safe and unaffected.
