
The wave in the central Atlantic is now Tropical Depression # 5. At 11 am, TD # 5 was located near 10.4 North, 47.5 West, and was moving west at 12 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds were 35 miles per hour. This system is expected to become a tropical storm on Sunday and move through portions of the Lesser Antilles on Tuesday. TD # 5 is forecast to become a hurricane in the eastern Caribbean and threaten Puerto Rico and Hispaniola by late in the workweek. We’ll watch this one very closely.
