Wednesday features lots of December sun around South Florida.  Look for a gusty breeze on the East Coast metro area and a high risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Christmas Eve will be clear and pleasant — so Santa will see optimum flying conditions in South Florida.  Wednesday’s highs will be near 80 degrees on the mainland and in the upper-70s in the Keys.

Christmas Day will bring a mild morning, with lows in the 60s on the mainland.  Then we’ll unwrap a day of pleasant weather, with a nice mix of sun and clouds in the East Coast metro area and lots of sun along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.  Thursday’s highs will be near 80 degrees in the East Coast metro area and in the upper-70s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

Friday will feature another mild morning, followed by sunny skies around South Florida and after-Christmas bargains at local stores.  Friday’s highs will be mostly in the low 80s on the East Coast and in the upper-70s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

Saturday will start with morning lows in the low- to mid-60s on the mainland.  Then look for lots of sun on the mainland and good sun with a few clouds in the Keys.  Saturday’s highs will be mostly in the low-80s in the East Coast metro area and in the upper-70s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

Sunday’s forecast calls for a cool morning, with lows in the low-60s on the mainland.  The day will be sunny in the East Coast metro area, while the Gulf Coast and the Keys will see a mix of sun and clouds.  Highs on Sunday will be in the low 80s in the East Coast metro area and the upper 70s along the Gulf Coast and the Keys.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
