Friday features some sun and more clouds on the mainland, while the Keys will see a nice mix of sun and clouds with maybe a stray shower.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Friday’s highs will be in the mid-80s on the East Coast and in the low-80s along the Gulf Coast and in the Keys.

Saturday will bring seasonable morning lows in the 60s on the mainland, followed by lots of sun along the Gulf coast and mostly sunny skies on the East Coast and the Keys.  Saturday’s highs will be in the low-80s on the mainland and the upper 70s in the Keys.

Sunday will feature a mild morning and mostly sunny skies around South Florida.  Sunday’s highs will be in the low 80s on the mainland and the upper-70s in the Keys.

Monday will see plenty of sun and some clouds at times.  Look for a gusty breeze on the mainland and an increasing risk of dangerous rip currents at the Atlantic beaches.  Monday’s highs will be in the upper-70s in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and in the low-80s along the Gulf Coast.

Tuesday’s forecast calls for lots of sun along the Gulf coast and a nice mix of sun and clouds in the East Coast metro area and the Keys.  Highs on Tuesday will be in the upper-70s in the East Coast metro area and the Keys and near 80 degrees along the Gulf coast.

She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
