Attorney General Pam Bondi on Sunday embraced a Saturday Night Live parody of her and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, tweeting “Loving Amy Poehler!” alongside a promotional image.
The SNL cold open lampooned Bondi’s recent contentious Senate Judiciary Committee testimony, with Poehler portraying her and opening with: “What’s up, nerds? Furious to be here.” She declined to promise to tell “the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth,” scoffing, “No.” At one point, she told a spoofed senator: “Before I don’t answer, I’d like to insult you personally.”
Bondi’s real testimony, held Oct. 7, was marked by tense exchanges with Democratic senators. She rebuffed questions and at one point snapped at Sen. Dick Durbin (D-Ill.), saying, “I wish you loved Chicago as much as you hate President Trump.”
The parody didn’t spare Noem either: Tina Fey appeared as Noem and quipped she was “the rarest type of person in Washington, D.C. — a brunette that Donald Trump listens to.” The sketch also referenced Noem’s controversial revelation about euthanizing her puppy in her memoir.
Bondi’s public reaction—unusual for a high-ranking official—suggests she may be choosing to lean into satire rather than fend it off.
