Why Were the Products Recalled?

Georgia Nut Company, a third-party manufacturer of Tru Fru, initiated the recall after a customer reported metal in the products.

According to the FDA, hard or sharp foreign objects in food can cause traumatic injuries. This may include laceration of the mouth, tongue, throat, stomach, and intestine, as well as damage to the teeth and gums.

So far, there have been no injuries reported in connection to the recalled products.

What You Should Do

If you’ve recently purchased a Tru Fru product, check to see if it’s under recall. If so, do not eat it—throw it away and fill out this form for reimbursement.

If you’ve already eaten one of the recalled products and you’re concerned about injuries, contact a healthcare provider.
