Tostitos chips are being recalled across 13 states due to an undeclared allergen, Frito-Lay announced in a statement on Wednesday
The company voluntarily recalled a limited number of Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips after discovering they may contain an undeclared milk allergen.
Customers with an allergy or sensitivity to milk should not consume the recalled chips and should dispose of them immediately.
Which Tostitos Chips Were Recalled?
The recall affects less than 1,300 bags of Tostitos tortilla chips. The affected products can be identified by the following information:
- Product Description: Tostitos Cantina Traditional Yellow Corn Tortilla Chips
- Size: 13 oz.
- UPC: 28400 52848
- Guaranteed Fresh Date: May 20, 2025
- Manufacturing Codes: One of the following Manufacturing Codes, where “XX” is any number from 30 to 55: 471106504 18 13:XX; 471106505 85 13:XX; 471106506 85 13:XX; or 471106507 85 13:XX

The recalled Tostitos chips were sold online and in grocery, convenience, and drug stores in the following 13 states:
- Alabama
- Florida
- Georgia
- Illinois
- Indiana
- Kentucky
- Mississippi
- North Carolina
- Ohio
- South Carolina
- Tennessee
- Virginia
- West Virginia
Why Were the Tostitos Chips Recalled?
The Tostitos chips were recalled due to an undeclared milk allergen. Frito-Lay said the recalled products may contain nacho cheese tortilla chips, which have milk.
The company said customers with an allergy or severe sensitivity to milk “run the risk of a serious or life-threatening allergic reaction” if they eat the recalled chips. To date, no allergic reactions have been reported in connection to the recalled Tostitos chips.
What To Do If You Have the Recalled Tostitos Chips
If you have a milk allergy or sensitivity, do not consume the recalled Tostitos chips. Throw them away immediately. If you can consume milk, the affected products are safe to eat.

Frito-Lay said they have reported the recall to the FDA.
