Republican Presidential nominee Donald J. Trump is coming to Fort Lauderdale on Wednesday with a plan to rally supporters. Staging a fundraiser at Trump National Doral two weeks ago, Trump hasn’t held a South Florida rally since March.

Doors to the BB&T Center in Sunrise open at 4 p.m. Thousands are expected to attend and normal security precautions will be in effect.

“Many prominent Republicans are behind Donald Trump,” Dolly Rump, chair of Donald Trump’s campaign in Broward, told SouthFloridaReporter. “We must beat Hillary Clinton in November.”

Winning the Florida primary on March 15 in a landslide, many polls have Trump running neck and neck with Democratic Presidential nominee Hillary Clinton. Long a swing state with 29 of the 270 electoral votes needed to win; Florida is an important part of Trump’s strategy to turn out large numbers of voters.

Faith Based Events

“We have a choice. The choice is a lying, crooked, career politician or a man that loves his country,” Robert Sutton, chairman of the Republican Party of Broward County told SouthFloridaReporter.

While former Florida Governor and Republican Presidential candidate Jeb Bush has yet to announce support for Donald Trump as party nominee, his eldest son, George P. Bush, has broken family ranks. On Saturday, the Texas land commissioner and state GOP victory chairman encouraged fellow Republicans to unite behind Donald Trump in his campaign against Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

“From Team Bush, it’s a bitter pill to swallow, but you know what? You get back up and you help the man that won, and you make sure that we stop Hillary Clinton,” Bush told a gathering of Texas Republican activists, according to a video posted on the social media channel YouTube.

Bush is the most prominent member of his family to get behind the Donald Trump candidacy. Both of the former presidents in his family, George H.W. Bush and George W. Bush, have stayed away from the Republican nominee. Neither was in attendance at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland last month.

“The Republican Party is uniting under Donald Trump. Thank you George P. Bush,” stated Karen Giorno, a Senior Political Advisor and Florida Chief Strategist for Donald J. Trump for President Inc. “Let’s elect Donald J. Trump the 45th President of the United States and “Make America Great Again!”

The Trump for President Rally will be held Wednesday, August 10 at the BB&T Center, 1 Panther Pkwy, Sunrise, Florida. Doors will open at 4 pm and plenty of paid parking is available. Tickets are available to the general public on a first come, first served basis.

“We are thrilled to rally behind Donald J. Trump,” former Broward GOP Chairman Richard DeNapoli told SouthFloridaReporter. “This is a perfect opportunity to meet fellow Trump supporters and rally behind the next President of the United States.”
