Wednesday features hot sun and a few morning showers and storms in the East Coast metro area, but more showers and storms will develop in the afternoon and last into the early evening.  The Gulf Coast will be sunny in the morning, with showers and storms moving in during the afternoon.  Look for mostly sunny skies and maybe a shower in the Keys.  Expect an elevated risk of dangerous rip currents along the Palm Beach County coast.  Highs on Wednesday will be mostly in the low-90s, with a few suburban locations reaching the mid-90s.  But it will feel about 10 degrees hotter, so stay hydrated and out of the sun.

Thursday will bring mostly sunny skies alternating with periods of showers and storms on the mainland.  The Keys will see more clouds than sun and showers at times.  Thursday’s highs will be in the low-90s.

Friday will feature a mix of sun, showers, and storms on the mainland, with most of the activity in the afternoon and early evening.  Look for plenty of clouds and periods of showers in the Keys.  Friday’s highs will be in the low-90s.

Saturday will see some sun and periods of showers in the morning on the mainland, with plenty of storms developing in the afternoon and lingering into the early evening.  Saturday’s highs will be in the low-90s on the mainland and near 90 degrees in the Keys.

Faith Based Events

Sunday’s forecast calls for hot sun, clouds, and plenty of showers and storms.  Highs on Sunday will be in the low-90s.

In the tropics, Fernand is weakening and losing its tropical characteristics.in the middle of the ocean.  Elsewhere in the tropical Atlantic, it’s quiet right now.

Donna Thomas has studied hurricanes for two decades. She holds a PhD in history when her experience with Hurricane Andrew ultimately led her to earn a degree in broadcast meteorology from Mississippi State University. Donna spent 15 years at WFOR-TV (CBS4 in Miami-Fort Lauderdale), where she worked as a weather producer with hurricane experts Bryan Norcross and David Bernard. She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
