Palm Beach 211 Non-Profit Helpline Names New President/Ceo

The 211 HelpLine Board of Directors has proudly appointed Sharon L’Herrou to be the new President and Chief Executive Officer, effective September 1st 2016. Sharon is deeply committed to protecting and furthering 211’s mission and has a successful track record in her current position of two years as 211’s Vice President of Operations. Her achievements to date include the successful launch of seven new initiatives, developing and maintaining relationships with key stake-holders, and representing 211 as an expert panelist and through various media spotlights.

Sharon has a broad range of strengths that include supervision and development of personnel, programs, and budgeting. She also took the lead on the agency’s drive for reaccreditation and successful monitoring with the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) and Palm Beach County’s Board of Commissioners. She was also instrumental in securing the Online Chat and “You Matter” Social Media Monitoring contract from the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, bringing 211 HelpLine to the foreground in the field of national crisis lines.

“211 HelpLine is an amazing organization that makes such a positive impact on the lives of so many people in need,” said Sharon.  “Our mission is critical and life-saving and my goal is to ensure that 211 is here for people in crisis for years to come!”

Prior to making the move to 211 back in 2014, Sharon served as the Administrative Officer for six years and Program Manager for four years at the Delray Beach Police Department, as well as worked for other organizations, such as ARC Broward, Northern Virginia Family Services and the Hope Center. Sharon is an Alumni of Leadership Palm Beach County, Class of 2016 and holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership along with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology which provides her with a solid grounding in behavioral management and effective learning strategies. She is confident that her extensive experience in the public and social service sector has prepared her to lead the next generation of 211 HelpLine.
