Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump was the keynote speaker at the Palm Beach County GOP’s Lincoln Day dinner at the Mar-a-Lago Club on Sunday, March 20. Almost 700 guests attended the sold out party fundraiser that raised in excess of $300,000 for the Republican Party of Palm Beach County. Conservative broadcaster and author, Laura Ingraham, was the emcee for the evening.
After socializing and networking, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi welcomed the crowd and introduced the Republican Presidential front-runner Donald Trump. When Trump took to the podium the crowd went wild and the candidate received a standing ovation.
Trump spoke from the heart for close to 30 minutes. “We’re about unity tonight. I will not say it. I refuse to say ‘Lyin’ Ted.’ I will not say it. Officially, I have not said ‘Lyin’ Ted,” Donald Trump told the energized crowd. “We have to unify as a party. The biggest story in politics, worldwide, is the tremendous number of people turning out in Republican primaries and caucuses,” Trump added.
When he was done, the crowd gave him another standing ovation.
Michael Barnett, chairman of the Republican Party of Palm Beach County agreed with Trump. “There is only one man in this race who has won consistently and massively these last few months,” Barnett stated. “We need to unite our party.”
The program featured remarks by former Presidential candidate Dr. Ben Carson, Florida Lt. Governor Carlos Lopez-Cantera, Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, Wall Street Journal columnist and author Peggy Noonan, radio talk show host and best-selling author Laura Ingraham, and National Spokesperson for the Congress of Racial Equality Niger Innis
Prior to the dinner, Chairman Michael Barnett and the Palm Beach County Republican Party hosted a VIP Reception that will included Donald Trump and each of the featured speakers.
