Summer Sun, Showers, Storms For Florida Wednesday

Wednesday features periods of mostly sunny skies alternating with building clouds, showers, and storms.  Gusty winds, lightining, and periods of heavy rain are possible with some of those storms.  Highs on Wednesday will be mostly in the low 90s — but it will feel much hotter, especially along the Gulf coast and well inland.

Thursday will see a return to sun and clouds in the morning and showers and storms in the mid to late afternoon.  Thursday’s highs will be mostly in the low 90s, with a few locations reaching the mid 90s.

Friday will bring a mix of sun, showers, and storms along the Gulf coast, while the east coast metro area will see early sun and clouds, followed by showers and storms in the afternoon.  Friday’s highs will be in the mid 90s.

Saturday will feature partly sunny skies and periods of showers and storms.  Look for gusty winds to develop along the Gulf coast in the afternoon.  Saturday’s highs will be in the low 90s.

Sunday’s forecast includes a mix of sun and clouds, along with passing showers and storms.  Highs on Sunday will be in the low 90s.

In the tropics, we’re watching the area of low ;pressure that’s now centered in South Carolina.  This feature will emerge into the Atlantic, where it has a medium chance of developing into a tropical or subtropical depression.  Regardless of development, it will bring heavy rain and possibly flash flooding to portions of the southeastern and mid-Atlantic states.

She also produced hurricane specials and weather-related features and news coverage, as well as serving as pool TV producer at the National Hurricane Center during the 2004 and 2005 seasons. Donna also served as a researcher on NOAA's Atlantic Hurricane Database Reanalysis Project. Donna specializes in Florida's hurricane history.
