Stormy on Tuesday; Watching TD #2

image4By Donna Thomas, EyesOnNews.com Meteorologist, July 22, 2014 – South Florida will be stormy again on Tuesday, but image5the end to this wet pattern is in sight. Meanwhile, Tuesday’s sticky start will give way to more showers and storms, especially during the afternoon. Some of those storms will be slow-moving and bring downpours and localized flooding. Tuesday’s highs will be mostly in the upper 80s. Wednesday will see lingering showers and storms but a bit more sun, with highs near 90 degrees. We’ll be back in our hot and steamy summer pattern on Thursday and into the weekend, with highs in the low 90s and a few early showers and mostly inland afternoon storms.

In the central Atlantic, Tropical Depression # 2 is moving west at 16 miles per hour. At 5 am Tuesday, the poorly defined center was estimated near 12.2 North, 46.4 West. TD # 2 had maximum winds of 35 miles per hour. The system will struggle with drier air and strong wind shear as it moves toward the Lesser Antilles. TD # 2 is forecast to weaken into an open wave by late Thursday, but it will bring squally weather to the islands. Click here for The Weather Channel>>>
