In the Atlantic, Hurricane Florence remains a major hurricane. At 5 am Thursday, Florence was located near 24.1 North, 47.9 West, and was moving northwest at 12 miles per hour. Maximum sustained winds were 115 miles per hour. Florence could pose a threat to Bermuda by the middle of next week.
We’re also watching the area of disturbed weather in the eastern Atlantic. It has a high chance of becoming a depression by the weekend. And another wave is forecast to emerge from the African coast on Friday; that one has a medium chance of developing during the next 5 days.
