Complaints of abuse of power and misuse of official position made against Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw and two underlings last year have caught the attention of the Florida Commission on Ethics, Gossip Extra has learned after obtained confidential state papers.
A probable cause hearing has been scheduled to take place March 10 near the state capitol, and it could lead to a decision by the commission to delve further into the actions of Bradshaw, his second-in-command Chief Deputy Michael Gauger and retired PBSO Detective Mark Lewis. The latter was brought back to PBSO on a part-time basis allegedly to investigate reporters, bloggers and politicians who oppose Bradshaw.
The hearing, which will feature the accused and/or their lawyers, is not open to the public.
But it’ll gauge whether there’s enough evidence to pursue a full-fledged investigation into the trio.
The three complaints were written last year by Mark Dougan, a former deputy who ran the anti-Bradshaw website pbsotalk.ru.
