Gilda’s Club To Host 13th Annual Day Of Research And Hope

Fort Lauderdale —Gilda’s Club South Florida is proud to hold the 13th Annual Day of Research and Hope on Saturday, June 27th from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The event will be hosted by Nova Southeastern University in the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center, located at 3100 Ray Ferrero Jr Boulevard, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33314.

This free educational symposium, presented by Memorial Cancer Institute, will feature Joanna Bull as the keynote speaker. Bull is the co-founder of Gilda’s Club and served as the therapist for famed comedian Gilda Radner before she lost her battle with ovarian cancer in 1989 at the age of 42.

The event will also feature exhibitors and an expert panel of top medical professionals, including:

  • Marcelo Blaya, Medical Oncologist, Memorial Cancer Institute
  • Brian Slomovitz, Obstetrics and Gynecologic Oncologist, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center

  • Andre Abitbol, Radiation Oncologist, Miami Cancer Institute

Free CEUs will also be available for medical and mental health professionals. The conference serves as an opportunity for the community to hear first-hand from and have their questions answered by experts in the field of cancer research and treatment.
