In the tropics, Tropical Storm Claudette has formed and is lashing portions of the Gulf Coast with heavy rain and gusty winds..  At 5 am Saturday, Claudette was located near 29.0 North, 90.7 West, about 45 miles southwest of New Orleans.  Maximum sustained winds were 45 miles per hour, and Claudette was moving northeast at 12 miles per hour.  A tropical storm warning is in effect from just east of Morgan City, Louisiana to the Okaloosa County/Walton County line in the Florida panhandle.  Claudette is expected to weaken to a depression soon after reaching the coast on Saturday.  But this system will bring flooding rain to portions of the southeast U.S. this weekend.
