A 23rd lien was just filed against the Donald Trump-run company that owns Trump National Doral Miami golf club.
This lien, which opens the way for a forced sale of Doral unless it’s paid off, was filed yesterday by Straticon LLC, the Martin County-based construction manager of the $255 million-renovation of the famed country club.
According to the paperwork, Straticon claims it’s still owed $236,472 for its work on the three-year project that ended in June.
And the lien comes in the wake of filings by 22 other contractors or subcontractors claiming that the Republican presidential nominee’s Trump Endeavor 12 LLC, the golf club’s owner, failed to pay their contracts in full.
Just last month, Trump Endeavor managed to stave off an attempt by a mom-and-pop paint supplier, The Paint Spot, to force the sale of the club over the last payment of $34,000 for $200,000 worth of paint.
The failure of Trump companies throughout the country to pay their bills in full has become a campaign issue, something that Democratic Party presidential wannabe Hillary Clinton has brought up routinely on the campaign trail.
Alan Garten, Trump’s business lawyer, pointed that 18 of the 23 liens filed against the Doral owner have been satisfied.
“Payments have been made,” Garten said. “On a project of this magnitude with hundreds of contractors, 20 liens isn’t a big deal. It’s a complicated project, and what’s important is the fact things are getting paid.”
Said Straticon President Michael Jackson: “We are proud of the work we’ve done on this project, on time and on budget. Our company is family-owned, and we take satisfaction in meeting customer expectations for many high-end building projects and renovations in South Florida and around the country over the last 25 years.”
Trump, who appeared with former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee and Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, was at the BB&T Center Tuesday night where he promised to, you guessed it, make America great again by empowering small to mid-sized businesses.
What I got out of this is that he put 255 million into jobs for the local enonomy and owes a couple hundred thousand of dollars in completed bills.
The $255 million includes costs for materials too. Those costs far outweigh the cost of labor.
Looks like you got more out of it than the folks they owe.

Payment in full? Or were they offered pennies on the dollar and told take it and be happy or take us to court where we’ll tie it up for years which is Trumps normal course of business?
He needs to pay those little girls that sang at his campaign while he is paying folks.
