Flags To Fly At Half-Staff To Honor Paris Attack Victims

By Peter SchorschSaintPetersBlog.com SouthFloridaReporter.com, Nov. 16, 2015 – Governor Rick Scott is ordering the American flag to be lowered at half-staff across the state to honor the victims of the terrorist attacks in Paris.

A series of attacks targeting young concert-goers, soccer fans and Parisians enjoying a Friday night out at popular nightspots killed at least 120 people in the deadliest violence to strike France since World War II.

Scott’s executive order goes into effect immediately throughout the state until sunset on November 22.

Scott said he and his wife Ann “are deeply saddened by these cowardly attacks on innocent people and we offer our thoughts, prayers and condolences to the victims and all those affected by this massacre.”

In Florida, the flag can only be ordered at half-staff by the President or the Governor.
