President Donald Trump has made it clear—from the earliest days of his campaign—that he would not be a friend to immigrants.
As such, it’s not surprising that he’s launched the VOICE (Victims Of Immigration Crime Engagement) hotline to collect reports (and ostensibly provide support) for those who feel they’ve been wronged in some way by aliens.
This flame-fanning was not popular with Congress, including many in the president’s own party, who feel that the hotline is unduly antagonistic. Its greatest opposition, though, is coming from a much more “grass roots” source.
Former Marine and current Columbia University student Alexander McCoy wrote a tweet on April 26th that has gathered a lot of steam:
“Wouldn’t it be a shame if millions of people called this hotline to report their encounters with aliens of the UFO-variety.”
The internet needed hear no more before springing into action, much to the chagrin of those at Immigration and Customs Enforcement, who suddenly found themselves fielding calls about Superman and Mr. Spock.
