Airlines Ask Passengers To Share Photos Of TSA’s Never-Ending Security Lines

Stuck in line at airport security? You’re not alone.

But then, you knew that, because there are about five billion people — give or take a billion — ahead of you in line.

And while that might be a slight exaggeration, the record number of passengers heading to U.S. airports this spring and summer has the Transportation Security Administration concerned.

TSA officials are warning travelers to allow extra time when heading to the airport this summer, as the agency’s staffing for security lines has decreased slightly in the past year instead of increasing proportional to passenger traffic. While the TSA is asking Congress for additional funding, they are also telling passengers to get to the airport early.

Telling passengers to arrive two or three hours ahead of their flight, however, hasn’t sat well with the airlines.

Now Airlines for America has organized a campaign to get travelers to share photos of long lines and tag the TSA, and launched iHateTheWait.com to get the message out.
