1. Quinoa Porridge

Ingredients:

    • 1/4 cup quinoa
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1 teaspoon almond powder
    • A pinch of cardamom powder

Method to prepare

    1. Wash the quinoa 2 -3 times in running water. Make sure you don’t find any bubbles in the quinoa.
    2. Soak the washed quinoa in filtered water for 15 minutes.
    3. Take a pan and boil milk, add the soaked quinoa to this milk and add 1/4 cup of water.
    4. Stir occasionally. Cook in medium flame for 12- 15 minutes or until quinoa turns mushy.
    5. In the end, add almond powder and cardamom powder.
    6. Serve quinoa porridge warm.

2. Banana puree

Bananas are rich in potassium and fiber. It is also easily digestible. Take a blender and blend 1 whole banana into a smooth puree.

3. Avocado puree

Avocado is a buttery in texture and contains good fats. Take a perfectly ripe avocado, gently scoop out the pulp, mash the pulp into a smooth puree with the help of a fork. Offer the avocado puree as a snack.

4. Carrot puree

Carrots are loaded with vitamin A, antioxidants and beta carotene. It is also sweet and has a pleasant texture. Steam 1 carrot and prepare carrot puree by adding little water.

5. Sprout Vegetable Soup

Sprouts contain a high amount of proteins. Add any vegetable of your choice to increase the nutritive value of this soup. The sprout vegetable soup can be given as breakfast or even an evening meal to the baby.

Ingredients

    • 2 tablespoon Mung bean sprouts
    • 1 carrot; roughly chopped
    • 1 pinch cumin powder
    • 1 pinch turmeric
    • 1 teaspoon butter

Method to prepare

  1. Take a pressure cooker, add mung bean, carrot, turmeric powder, cumin powder and 1 cup of water
  2. Cook all the ingredients for about 2-3 high whistles. Once the pressure releases, add the butter and blend everything into a fine paste.
  3. Serve the sprout vegetable soup warm.

6. Baby Spinach and Yam Soup

Baby Spinach and yam is a classic combination. This soup is loaded with calcium, vitamin A, folate, and iron. Avoid offering any type of spinach at night as it takes to lead to indigestion.

Ingredients

    • 1/4 cup baby spinach
    • 1/4 cup yam

Method to prepare

    1. Steam cook baby spinach and yams for 12-15 minutes in low flame.
    2. Blend everything into a smooth puree.
    3. Adjust the consistency by adding little water.

  1. Avoid including salt and sugar into the baby food.
  2. Never force-feed your baby.
  3. Baby food is advisable only after the completion of 6 months.
  4. Always look out for allergies while introducing a portion of new food to the child.
